The Electoral Commissioner of Ghana, who is the returning officer of the presidential elections Jean Mensa has just declared the incumbent president Nana Akufo Addo the winner of the just-ended 2020 Presidential elections.
He polled 6,730, 413 which is 51.59% of the total votes cast nationwide on December 7.
His closest contender, John Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) polled 6, 214, 889 which gives him 47.36% of the total votes cast.
The Electoral Commission boss noted that the results didn’t include the Techiman South constituency as it’s being contested but even if the total votes in that constituency is added to that of John Mahama, it wouldn’t change the results.
She mentioned that there’s a voter population of 128,018 in that constituency.
Congrats to him.
