Social media reports sighted by thegossipmall.com have it that the mother of hibernated Ghanaian singer, Fantata might lose her seat in Ghana’s eighth parliament.
According to the viral reports, Fatana’s mother who is known as Dorcas Affo-Toffey is still holding on to her American citizenship even though it is against the constitution and law electoral laws of Ghana.

This shocking news was seen on the page of one Instagram blogger Cutie Juls.
The blogger captioned a photo of Fantana and his mum:
‘Hmm Ghana… La fantana’s mother will be facing the law o.
‘As of 7/12/2020 when she was voted as a Member of Parliament in a Ghanain constituency, she was still and remained a American citizen. You know that’s a crime as per the constitutuion of Ghana, right?’
If this turns out to be true, it will be the second of such cases in the current parliament.
Already, Assin North MP, James Gyakye Quayson was recently injuncted by the high court in Cape Coast not to hold himself as an MP after winning his seat because he failed to renounce his Canadian citizenship at the right time before he contested.
Ms Dorcos Affo Toffey won back the Jomoro Constituency for the NDC in the recent parliamentary elections after the party lost the seat to the NPP in 2016.
