Mickey Osei Berko supports the show of Pornography by TV stations

In an interview with Eugene Osafo Nkansah of Nkonkonsa.com, Mickey Osei Berko, also known as Dada Boat, who is also an actor and media personality, pointed out how weak the media regulations are in the country, which allows foreign contents to be aired with no supervision.

He therefore sarcastically stated that, he is in full support of pornographic contents being shown on air like it happened at Gh one TV some weeks ago. He does not fault any of the TV stations for showing these programs.

When asked if he truly will go naked on the streets and demonstrate if nothing is done about the contents shown on TV by December as he had already stated on UTV,  he said he didn’t mean it literally. He only said it to show the extent of his grievances.

Also, he ascertained that many of the foreign actors such as those in the telenovelas and other India TV series are being enriched at the expense of the Ghanaian taxpayers whiles our own actors are being impoverished.

Dada Boat said emphatically that most Ghanaian actors are poor because the industry is not robust enough. He threw more light on how most of our actors show off their flashy lifestyles but in reality are suffering financial hardships. The commercials and other gigs he explained, fetch very little money, which makes it even difficult for him to fuel his car sometimes.

Talking about the music industry, he thinks the promotion of highlife music must be the topmost priority of every artiste and the citizenry as a whole. The promotion of reggae dancehall and other genres of music he said benefits Jamaicans more than Ghanaians because our true identity is with highlife.
