Just as it happened four years around this same time, the political tension in Ghana is at its apex as all the political parties, especially the major political parties are campaigning to form the next government for mother on December 7, 2020.
As it has become the norm in recent years, political parties in power tend to have a lot of showbiz personalities who are very popular in different areas to endorse their candidate so they get votes from the followers of these personalities.
Well, the situation was not different this year because the governing New Patriotic Party has so far received some massive endorsements from top celebrities in the country — some of which are from people they supposedly paid huge sums of money to.
Below is the list of over 25 showbiz personalities who have publicly endorsed the ruling NPP.
1.Sarkodie
The subtle endorsement of President Akufo-Addo by the Sarkcess Music boss is one that came as a huge surprise to many people, including industry players.
The BET award-winning rapper released a new track which is titled ‘Happy Day’ that features Kuami Eugene and already the song has been seen baby many as a campaign song because the lines in the song sort of eulogizes President Akufo-Addo.
Rapping in Twi, Sarkodie said: “ if I have spoken about Dumsor and also complained about inflation, and today I have light because there’s no dumsor and my children can go to school for free, then Nana continue“.
2.Samini
The Ghanaian dancehall act and Highgrade Family boss, Samini despite his earlier remarks that musicians must not engage themselves in party politics has composed Akufo-Addo and the NPP.
The song highlights the achievements of Nana Addo and also tells why Ghanaians must re-elect him.
3. Agya Koo
The Kumawood legend’s endorsement of Prez. NADAA and the NPP in 2020 does not come as a surprise because he has done it over and over again.
4. Bibi Bright
The Ghanaian actress has proudly been an NPP sympathizer before H.E Nana Addo won the 2016 elections.
She campaigns for the party and that has later seen her being appointed as the Secretary of the Creative Arts Council.
Bibi has also been spotted on countless occasions with the Deputy Chair of the National Service Scheme.
The controversial social media sensation and comedienne actively campaign for the opposition NDC in 2016 so her endorsement of the NPP this year came as shocking news to many people but it is what it is.
According to her, she wants 4 More 4 Nana because her children benefited from Free SHS and the NPP government has employed one of her brothers and not because of some alleged monies Chairman Wontumi paid to her.
The Hitz FM programs manager and veteran sound engineer is an old phase in this list. He is a proud NPP sympathizer and even helped the party to draft its 2016 manifesto on matters relating to the creative arts industry.
After the Party’s 2016 win, he has been appointed as the head of the Creative Arts Council of Ghana.
7. Diana Asamoah
Diana is one of the Gospel singers who is campaigning for the NPP this year.
She has also released a song she has composed for the 4 More 4 Nana agenda. It will be recalled that back in 2008, one of her songs was adopted by the NPP and Prez. NADAA.
8. Prince David Osei
Ghanaian actor Prince David Osei has never hidden the fact that she is a proud sympathizer of the NPP and this year, he is once again amplifying his support for the re-election of Nana Addo with a massive campaign on social media.
The Ghanaian Gospel singer is one of the new faces who have joined the NPP. It will be recalled that ahead of the 2016 elections, she campaigned for the NDC.
Her change is not too shocking because she is now married to NPP’s Hopeson Adorye. Recently, she revealed that she decided to change because her husband is running as the NPP parliamentary candidate for the Kpone Katamanso constituency in the upcoming elections, and she needs to support him.
The Ghanaian actor and model is also one of the few celebrities who have publicly declared their support for the ruling NPP.
He was recently spotted on a campaign tour with his colleague Bibi Bright and he has been using his social media platforms to do a massive campaign for Nana Addo’s re-election as well.
The multiple award-winning DJ and radio presenter, Andy Dosty has also endorsed the NPP and President Akufo-Addo.
Even though he is not very vocal on social media like others, he has endorsed the party and he is campaigning underground.
Also, not long ago, renowned sound engineer, Fred Kyei Mensah (Fredima) took to his Facebook page to list over 25 celebrities in Ghana who have endorsed Nana Akufo-Addo.
